Wacom was founded in Ageo, Japan, in 1983 by a group of engineers driven to make the interaction between humans and computers feel entirely natural. The name brilliantly combines the Japanese syllable “Wa” (meaning harmony or circle) with “Com” (short for computer). In 1984, the company changed graphic art forever by introducing the world’s first cordless, battery-free electromagnetic resonance (EMR) digital stylus pen and tablet system, which perfectly mimicked the natural pressure, friction, and angle of an artist’s real pencil on paper.  Wacom stands apart by focusing on creative input.
